  • What should I do if there is damage to any of my property?
Due to the nature of a housekeeper's work, there may occasions when they are directly or indirectly responsible for accidental damage to property. On such occasions, we try to follow a fair system that protects both our customers and housekeepers equally. Reporting damage In the event of damage, this must be reported to us within 72 hours of the end of the clean. This will open a damage case and further information and photographs will need to be submitted. This further information must be provided to us within 48 hours of the case opening. Generally: Your housekeeper would not be deemed responsible for any damage due to faulty goods, 'wear & tear', or as a result of reasonable use of equipment/products. £300 is the maximum goodwill credit we can award. This can only be redeemed from residential cleans, and cannot be used for anything else. We can only award this credit in the event of damage for which we know the housekeeper is responsible. We will consider depreciation and 'wear & tear' when assessing how much credit to award. We use common industry benchmarks to inform these depreciation rates. For example and in general: Electronics – 20% annual depreciation Clothing or garments – 33% annual depreciation In order to verify the purchase of a damaged item, a receipt or bank statement may be required. We are unable to insure any damage resulting from the use of oven cleaning products or other corrosive cleaning products. We strongly recommend that you do not provide such products to your housekeeper unless there is need for specialist cleaning services.
